  • At Iris, by taking part in the structured play situations, the kids are given a chance to try out new skills as well as practice familiar ones.
  • Here, the children enjoy learning through play, hands on activities & interaction with others. The teaching of concepts through activities, poems, songs, dance & games enable children to explore & learn about the world around them is indeed effective.

CLASSROOM SETUP

  • Classroom setup instills learning atmosphere where children learn the concept with unconscious efforts which is called as ‘emergent literacy’.
  • I variables (Birthday chart, Weather chart, Kids corner, Time Table Chart, Theme board, Rhymes Chart, Story Chart, Ground rules-placards & Sight words) are displayed on wall.
  • At Iris, the audio-visual aids help children to build a strong learning base & make learning more permanent. Science student use more than one sense here.
  • Pictures, slides, videos, flash cards, toys & various other audio visual tools are used by teachers to teach topics.

Learning Periods

  • General timings from Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 1:00 pm
  • Assembly 8:30 am to 8:45 am
  • Session starts from 8:45 am onwards as per the micro schedule.

Assembly

  • Pre-primary school assembly provides young students with an opportunity to exhibit their talents & knowledge with the school community.
  • It provide the opportunity for the champs to develop their confidence by speaking up & sharing their ideas. We, at Iris make sure every child has a chance to get involved in all daily practices in school.

CURRICULUM

  • Education at Iris is an integrated process that takes into account the heterogeneity of the learner & learning styles. The innovative curriculum for the Pre-primary is in use with the objective of reinforcing values, concepts, ideas, skills & activities.
  • Areas of Growth & Development : Physical, Language, Personal, Emotional, Social, Intellectual / Cognitive, Aesthetic development etc.
  • Preschool Math provides Academic Building Blocks : At Iris, skills like number sense, math concepts & simple application of ideas like addition, subtraction are being applied to classroom activities.

  • No home work, no exams. Only remarks are given.
